GFWAust have been awarded Gold Contractor status by Integral Energy for injection of bentonite in conduits to provide cooling of their electrical cables.

Rouse Hill – NSW

To provide power for the new housing and shopping centre at Rouse Hill,Integral Energy installed 6 No 110mm diameter cables along Schofileds Road from Rouse Hill substation. The total length of the run was over 2.5km. GFWAust were appointed to fill the 150mm diameter conduits with bentonite after the cables had been installed. Cat holes were excavated at 150 to 200m in the road.

Hoxton Park – NSW

The widening of Hoxton Park Road included the installation of new power cables by Integral Energy. Connect were appointed to install three 90mm cables in 150mm diameter conduits over a total length of 2.15km.
The distance between cat holes was approximately 250m. GFWAust were appointed to fill the conduits with bentonite after the cables had been installed. The project work was carried out in less than a week to fulfill the tight requirements of the program. GFWAust were then asked to return to Hoxton Park to carry out a further 2km of conduit filling.
 

Liverpool West Substation - NSW

Removal of overhead cables and trnsfer to underground ducts required bentonite injection to cool the cables for two 150m long feeders.

Parklea to Bella Vista - NSW

The development of a new substation at Bella Vista required power cables to be installed from Parklea substation. The total length of the run is 2.5km. GFWAust were appointed to fill the 150mm diameter conduits with bentonite following directly behind the cable installationwith injection points between 100 to 250m apart.

Quakers Hill - NSW

To provide power for the new Sydney Water Sewerage Treatment Plant in Quakers Hill Endeavour Energy installed 132KV cables from Quakers Hill Substation. GFWAust were appointed to fill the conduits with bentonite. No additional bentonite inject points were required with the maximum conduit injection length being 280m

Liverpool to Liverpool West underbores - NSW

Twin 132kV feeder cables along Hoxton Park Rd between Liverpool West and the new Liverpool substation included several underbores including a major underbore beneath the Hume Highway. GFWAust were appointed to inject bentonite to surround the 120mm diameter cables in the 150mm diameter conduits.

Rose Hill zone substations – NSW

GFWAust were called in as a matter of urgency to bentonite the cables between the two zone substations at Rose Hill which were to be energized the following day. The six conduits were over 300m in length with 63mm diameter cables in 150mm diameter conduits.
