After the successful completion of the grouting and concreting of the first compressor in 2011 GFWAust were invited back by APA in October and November 2012 to complete the works on the 2nd and 3rd compressors.
The APA gas compressors at Kogan were experiencing vibration problems which were affecting their stability. Am assessment by vibration specialists Vipac determined that filling the pedestal with fiber reinforced concrete would provide stability to the structure.
GFWAust provided expertise in determining the most appropriate materials and mix details and were appointed to carry out the grouting and concreting works which including sealing the skid with a precision grout, filling the void with steel fiber reinforced concrete, and then presure grouting to ensure the pedestal was completely filled.
