Austcorp’s latest project in Victoria Park, Zetland occupies the prime site at the north-western corner of Victoria Park. Prominence will provide 202 residential apartments in a series of three buildings up to nine stories high with city views from the upper level units. The development includes three levels of carpark. The basement was constructed with sheetpiles through fill and sand down to weathered sandstone. The water table was only 3m below surface. Where some of the sheetpiles had not clutched properly sand and water ingressed into the excavation. Grouting and Foundation Works Australia provided a grouting solution behind the sheetpiles to consolidate the sand and reduce the water ingress so that the concrete slab could be successfully installed.
